This is the cautionary tale of Alphonse Du Gard and his search for love.
He's been down in the dumps and lonely in life for a very long time
He had a series of dates that didn't go well
“Well”? They didn't show up.

So today he met Valerie Parks up on Parliament Hill
For an ice skating date he had bought a ring
So she’d say yes to him!
He was down on one knee
Ring in his hand, praying for the ice to break
And oh how it did

She slipped and fell
She knocked in to him
He sliced in to her
She let out a yell

Her fingers spun over the ice
It was a blood curdling scene
With blood curdling screams
From everyone.

Poor old Alphonse Dugard remains a single man in custody..
